The film recorded the opening ceremony of Comrade Liu Jingji's Collection of Paintings and Calligraphy Exhibition on the afternoon of May 10, 1982, hosted by Municipal Cultural Relics Commission in Shanghai Museum. A total of 101 paintings and calligraphy works were exhibited this time. The oldest one is the long scroll of calligraphy in Song Dynasty, about 800 years ago. Liu Jingji, member of the Standing Committee of National Committee of Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and a famous cultural relics collector, attended the ceremony and made a speech. He pointed out that it was necessary to resolutely crack down on smuggling of historical relics by illegal smugglers and demonstrate a strong determination to continue to contribute to the protection of national culture.
