In order to assist the development of culture and education in Xinjiang, 108 Shanghai teachers including retired teachers, newly-married teachers and fresh graduates from normal colleges went to Xinjiang. Shanghai Vice Mayor Yang Kai, leaders from municipal education and health office, education bureau, personnel bureau as well as their families saw them off at the station.
