On September 26, 1983, influenced by typhoon No.10, more than 30 Taiwan fishing boats in the east China sea successively sailed into Shanghai port wharf to take shelter from the typhoon. The head of the Shanghai Fishery Trade Union and representatives from the Taiwan compatriots reception office of the Shanghai Municipal People's Government visited Taiwan compatriots at the docks. Some of them were also invited to the Shanghai Gymnasium to watch the National Games.
